Optional Tasks

Workflows can now include optional tasks. If one of those tasks fails, the job can continue instead of being canceled, while the failure remains visible for you to investigate.

For example, a workflow might produce its main results and also create a preview image. If the preview isn’t essential to the result, you can make that work optional so a problem there doesn’t stop the rest of the job.

You decide which failures should stop processing and which can be handled separately. Essential steps keep their existing failure behavior; optional tasks give you more control over the work around them.
